What this covers

This policy explains what Islam Trivia collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the mobile app and to islamtrivia.com, both published by Sidr Productions.

What we collect

When you create an account: your email address and the display name you choose. Your password is stored only as a cryptographic hash — we never see it.

If you choose to add them: phone number, country, age group, and a profile photo. All of these are optional and the app works without them.

As you play: which quizzes you started and finished, the answers you gave, your scores, time taken, XP, level, streak and badges.

Technical information our hosting provider records automatically, such as IP address and timestamps, for security and abuse prevention.

What we do not collect

We do not use advertising networks and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos (beyond a profile picture you deliberately choose), or anything from other apps.

Playing without an account

You can browse and play as a guest. In guest mode nothing about your play is recorded — no scores, no history, no profile.

The website

islamtrivia.com runs the same quizzes against the same database as the app, and this policy covers both.

The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and carries no third-party analytics.

It stores two things in your browser: your chosen language, and — if you sign in — your session, so you stay signed in between visits. Both live only in your own browser and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings. Neither is sent anywhere else.

Why we hold it

To give you an account and keep you signed in.

To save your progress so it follows you between devices.

To calculate XP, levels, streaks and badges, and to place you on the leaderboard.

To keep the service working and to investigate abuse.

We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or to make automated decisions about you.

Who can see it

Your display name, country flag, avatar and XP total appear on the public leaderboard. Everything else — your email, phone, answers and individual scores — is visible only to you.

If you would rather not appear on the leaderboard, you can change your display name at any time, or delete your account.

Where it is stored

Data is held by Supabase, our database and hosting provider, on servers in Singapore. Supabase processes it on our instructions and has no independent right to use it.

If you are in the UAE, the EU, the UK or elsewhere, your data is transferred to and stored in Singapore.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it goes with it.

Backups are retained for up to 30 days before being overwritten, so a deleted account may persist in backup for that period.

Deleting your account

Open Profile, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete account. This is immediate and permanent: your profile, answers, scores, streak, badges and sign-in are all removed. There is no undo and we cannot restore it afterwards.

If you cannot reach the app, email privacy@sidr.productions from your registered address and we will do it for you.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Most of this you can do yourself in the app; for anything else, email us.

Contact: privacy@sidr.productions.

Children

Islam Trivia includes content written for younger learners, and children may use it with a parent or guardian.

We ask for an age group only to tailor content difficulty. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without a parent or guardian.

If you believe a child has given us personal information, email privacy@sidr.productions and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
